When this was originally posted, it was the day before Thanksgiving. I know, pizza or takeout is traditionally what people do for dinner as there is so much cooking being done the next day, but I would say that this dish is as easy as pizza or take out. And it wont be cold or soggy when it arrives at your home because you made it yourself!
12 oz pasta
One recipe spaghetti sauce or one jar of spaghetti sauce
1 pound of hamburger, ground chicken, or ground turkey
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
This recipe is truly ‘just assembly’.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease a 8×8, 9×9, or similar size covered casserole dish. I have a covered oval casserole that is perfect for this dish.
If making homemade sauce, combine ingredients in small saucepan and cook on low. If using jarred, pour into a small saucepan and simmer until heated through.
Cook the pasta until just done, and drain. In the same pan, add the hamburger, ground chicken or ground turkey, and cook through. Drain off any fat or water. Add the pasta back into the saucepan with the meat, pour in the sauce and stir to combine. Then pour into casserole dish and sprinkle on cheese. Cover and bake for 20 minutes.
